The Library was built in XXXX from larch that was brought down in the by Hurricane Stephen on 26 December 1998 (also called The Great Boxing Day Storm of 1998).
Paper, pens & pencils left for rainy day and the rest became history. The Library is now visited by tens of thousands of people from all over the world each year.

After quarter of a century braving the Scottish weather, The Library received a facelift in 2024 where the rotting front was removed, a waterproof breathable membrane installed and finished with new larch planks.
